5✩. "Great easy read, engaging and interesting. I read the whole book in one night, and found myself wanting to continue the story. Harry Potter meets Enders Game, the characters were relatable, interesting, and lovable, in a universe that teases great potential for further adventures." By N. Fisher on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "I can't be considered a child or (sadly) even a young adult anymore, but after a friend mentioned this new book to me I thought I'd give it a try and raced through it, finding it a very enjoyable read. With an interesting and fast paced plot, I found this easy to get into but difficult to put down. It sparked my imagination in a way that not many modern books do - and I do tend to read anything and everything I can get my hands on. Inevitably, all new books that span the child and adult genre will be compared to the Harry Potter series, but this one has safely set itself apart by moving into sci-fi and introducing a sense of fun and exploration, which will hopefully inspire children to learn more about the real world fascinations offered by science and space. Although I love the Harry Potter books, one of my biggest complaints was that Harry never actually seemed to use his magic as much as I wanted him to or in a particularly impressive way, whereas the main character in this book (Julius) delivers in spades and feels like a much stronger character in mastering and using his skills. That's where my comparison stops, because this book really does go down a different road entirely. If you love sci-fi, it will not only be an enjoyable read for youu but also a great way to introduce your children to the genre. At a time when it's incredibly difficult to get kids (and ourselves!) to move away from the computer/the mobile/the mindless draw of social media, books like Tijaran Tales are becoming more important than ever." 5✩. "This was my first venture into the sci-fi genre and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It is recommended for children but is also a good read for adults as it takes you into a world of fantasy and escapism. It was full of imagination and adventure... let's face it who hasn't imagined a trip to the moon or being able to control people and objects with your mind? Barbini has created a new and exciting world with great attention to detail from the description of fly- cars travelling on skyways(my favourite type being the Bumble Bee 5000 which gives off a scent of honey from its special paint) to the minute detail describing the arrival of the selected group of gifted friends at the Zed Academy on the moon. The story begins in a normal domestic situation but it is clear from the onset that Julius the central character is anything but normal! The characters in the book have a good balance of humanity and supernatural skills. This book has scientific and spiritual aspects and a good dose of humour throughout...it builds up towards a great climax at the end and leaves you wanting more....can't wait for the next one!" 5✩. "I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy book. Ms Barbini has produced a fast-moving and exciting book that I think will appeal very much to boys age 10+. I am much older than that and found I didn't want to put it down. In some ways it is almost computer gamelike in certain areas and that is why I think it will appeal particularly to boys. There was humour and lots of magic. I am really looking forward to the next one in the series." By Maggie on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "As I am a massive geek, anything that involves space or sci-fi I'm right into. But even if your not a massive space geek it will still appeal to you. Like Harry Potter, the books appeal to adult and children alike. It is basically Harry Potter in space! Through the adventure you see the characters develope into brave, young teenagers to battle evil forces. The suspense of the story line kept me reading well into the night. Even though I wanted reach the conclusion I didn't want the book to end as I was enjoying it so much. I could not wait for the next book to come out to see how the story unfolds even more, and it's just as good! Recommend the book strongly! A very good read!" By Alex McCurdy on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "I finished the first book and loved it. For years I have wanted to find an adventure series that included a disabled child and the author has totally cracked it. The why and how of Faith's disability have been left irrelevant which is entirely how (polite) 12 year olds would be - they would either accept the person or not. She has, I think, captured the mind of the children perfectly, excluded from adult secrets but alert enough to pick up information and brave (foolish?) enough to act when required. Famous Five meets Harry Potter meets Ender's Game" By Mrs L Wilshire on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "White Child is a really great start to the series! With a mix of the magic of Harry Potter and the Sci-fi of X-Men F.T Barbini creates a fantastic world full of adventure and mystery! The characters are so life Iike, especially the main character Julius who realistically reflects an everyday teenager's thoughts and feelings and interactions with friends and teachers (with the addition of special abilities too!) The plot pulls you in and makes you want more! I cannot recommend this series enough, it is such a good read and will keep you wanting more! " By Marc Livingstone on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "I read this and the next two in the sequence over the course of about four days. I loved them and am looking forward to the next installment/s. I am a (little) older than the target audience but these books are just what I would have been reading when I was a teenager. Thanks for a very good read!" By Amazon Customer on Amazon.co.uk
5✩. "I absolutely loved this book! I actually read it in a day. It was great to go back to my childhood style book, and get totally swept away. What is amazing is how real the world seems - although it feels fanciful, it is grounded enough in reality that you buy into it. The characters are fantastic, and I think we can all see ourselves in them. I loved the teachers as well - they all seem so cool!
Even if you're a grownup (in age, anyways) you should read this book! It will put a smile on your face, and make you want more!" By Andra on Amazon.co.uk
