Luna Novella: Introducing John Dodd

Luna Novella is here, and we are thrilled to announce that John Dodd has joined the Luna family with the novella, Just Add Water.

On the 15th of April, we opened submissions to novellas, for the first time. From this, six talented authors have emerged and have joined the Luna family: today we are delighted to announce John Dodd. Our new series will be available in digital format and also in the pocket-size print edition so that they can journey with you!

John C Dodd works conventions, that’s what he does, that’s all he does…

He also wrote a million words in 2014 and has never stopped since then, writing is what keeps him sane… You can find him on Facebook or by typing in Millionwordman into any search engine in the world

Just Add Water is the story of leaving Earth to seek out a new life amongst the stars, on a ship that holds all the colonists as powdered packets, ready to send them to their new homes by reconstituting them from the oceans of the new world.

John said about the novella:

"Just Add Water came about from a random idea while writing a different novel some years ago, and the notion of what could happen if the genetic makeup of a person was what defined how they felt about something. In particular, the idea that where you came from defines who you are and how you feel about it. Would people from Earth ever truly feel at home on another world, or would they need some part of them to come from that world to feel like they belonged? What if you could reduce the human body to something that could be easily transported, and then rebuilt, using the world they came to…?

And then one step further, what happens when those whose intentions were not to save the human race got hold of that technology, what could you do when the very bodies of the conquered could be used to make more of your own soldiers, and when you were done, could be used again to make colonists that absolutely belonged to the world they found themselves on, because they originally did belong to that world…

This is what came of those thoughts…"

John Dodd's Just Add Water will be released in 2021, as part of the Luna Novella series.

For Luna Novella 2021: Dilman Dila, John Dodd.
